Almirola made it a big night at the track for Billy Ballew Motorsports. The young driver led 52 laps during the middle portion of the race and he gave the team a 2-3 finish with teammate Kyle Busch. Almirola would love to be racing at the Sprint Cup level, but he's making the most of his truck series opportunity. This was his seventh Top 5 in just 15 starts this season.
Aric Almirola has filed a lawsuit in North Carolina Superior Court alleging that Earnhardt Ganassi Racing and Dale Earnhardt Inc. have breached their contract with him, scenedaily.com reports.
Impact:
Almirola is proceeding with his lawsuit against EGR and DEI for breach of contract. When the two organizations merged this season it left Almirola without a Sprint Cup ride.

Almirola run among the Top 10 late in the race and even led 15 of the 98 laps run. He gave teammate Kyle Busch a big push towards the finish and allowed the teams to pass Todd Bodine and finish one-two in the Mountain Dew 250. It was Almirola's sixth Top-5 finish of the season in just 13 starts.

Almirola was parked due to lack of sponsorship for the No. 8 team. Earnhardt-Ganassi has not been able to re-start this team this season, and it has left Almirola to search for opportunities. It appears that the young driver is just looking for some compensation for EGR not honoring his contract.
SPEEDtv reports that Billy Ballew Motorsports is close to locking up full sponsorship that would put Aric Almirola in one of their trucks for the entire 2010 season.
Impact:
Almirola has raced well in both of Ballew's trucks this season. Signing him to a full-time gig with the team in 2010 makes a lot of sense. Almirola could challenge for next season's championship with this strong race team.
Aric Almirola will make his 100th career NASCAR start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday in the running of the Las Vegas 350 Camping World Truck Series race, billyballewmotorsports.com reports.

Almirola will be driving the No. 51 Billy Ballew Toyota Tundra at Vegas on Saturday. He's sure to make this milestone start a memorable one. Almirola has been racing very well for this team of late and should challenge the Top 5 in the Las Vegas 350.

He kept his Billy Ballew Motorsports No. 15 Toyota in the Top 10 for the entire evening and was able to collect his personal best finish in NASCAR racing. It was Almirola's fourth Top 5 in just his eighth start this season.
