David Stremme, who has been replaced by Brad Keselowski in the No. 12 Penske Dodge, will drive the No. 09 Chevy for Phoenix Racing at Homestead in a couple of weeks, FOX Sports reports.

    Impact:
Stremme will get to fill in the driver's seat for owner James Finch at the season finale in Homestead. The future appears wide open for Stremme. He could race full time in the Nationwide Series next year or he could pursue a Sprint Cup opportunity with a handful of teams, including Front Row Motorsports.

Penske Racing officials announced Monday that Brad Keselowski will replace David Stremme in the organization's No. 12 Dodge for the remaining three NASCAR Sprint Cup races this season, scenedaily.com reports.

    Impact:
This was a bit of a suprise move by Penske. Stremme was originally supposed to finish the 2009 season behind the wheel of the No. 12 Dodge, but apparently plans changed. Stremme will get an early start on the free agent game, and hopefully use that to his advantage to secure a Sprint Cup ride in 2010.

  • 10.23.09

Stemme and the No. 12 Dodge team will bring chassis PRS-600 to Martinsville Speedway for Sunday's 500-lap event. This is the same machine the team utilized at Bristol Motor Speedway in August. The car ran on the lead lap all day and crossed the finish line in the 20th position, davidstremme.com reports.

    Impact:
Stremme has had little fantasy racing value this season, but the beating and banging of Martinsville is an equalizer for this driver this weekend. He has a good chance to crack the Top 20 in Sunday's Tum's Fast Relief 500.

  • 10.09.09

The No. 12 Penske Dodge team will use a new chassis during Sunday's 500-mile event at Fontana. In his last outing at Auto Club Speedway, David Stremme posted a solid Top-15 finish, davidstremme.com reports.

    Impact:
While another Top-15 finish at Auto Club Speedway is not likely for the No. 12 team, Stremme has raced well enough of late to crack the Top 25 this weekend at Fontana. He makes a risky fantasy racing play in the Pepsi 500, but with some upside.

  • 09.01.09

With the signing of Brad Keselowski at Penske Racing, David Stremme will become a free agent driver for next season, penskeracing.com reports.

    Impact:
There were no specifics on Stremme's status with the team in this news release, but we can't imagine that he'd stay on with Penske Racing. Stremme had been announcing his pending free agent status as early as last week at Bristol. With the competitive market in Sprint Cup racing right now, he could end up back in the Nationwide Series next season.
