Impact:
The experimental Ford entry for Sadler worked out pretty well at Talladega this weekend. He as able to run up front for parts of the race and even lead a handful of laps. When the chaos broke out in the closing laps, Sadler kept the No. 19 entry clean and brought home his fifth Top-10 finish of the season.
Elliott Sadler's No. 19 Stanley car will race as a Ford for the first time in NASCAR Sprint Cup competition this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway, Richard Petty Motorsports PR reports.
Impact:
RPM is switching over to Ford cars next season as they will likely merge with Yates Racing. Sadler is going to get a jump on that manufacturer change by running a Ford starting this weekend at Talladega, in order to get a head start on 2010.
Elliott Sadler and the No. 19 RPM team battled a loose Dodge Charger for most of Sunday's Pepsi 500 at Fontana. The bad day come to a close when the veteran driver was collected in a multi-car accident with six laps to go and he finished 32nd at Auto Club Speedway, richardpettymotorsports.com reports.
Impact:
The DNF snapped a 52-race streak of running at the end of each race for Sadler. Consistency has been a real problem for the No. 19 team this season. Sadler is capable of turning in Top-15 finishes, but following up with poor results the next race. He makes a shaky fantasy racing selection until this team improves.
Elliott Sadler led the four-car Richard Petty Motorsports contingent on Sunday at New Hampshire Motor Speedway with a brilliant eighth-place finish in the Sylvania 300, richardpettymotorsports.com reports.
Impact:
This was one of Sadler's best efforts of the season. He navigated the No. 19 Dodge from 35th starting spot to capture a rare Top-10 finish at Loudon. The RPM team kept making changes to Sadler's Dodge Charger and he made all the right moves on the track to secure the brilliant Top-10 finish.
