    A.J. Allmendinger and the No. 44 RPM team started 13th in Sunday's Ford 400. After several adjustments and some good racing, Allmendinger finished 10th at Homestead-Miami Speedway, richardpettymotorsports.com reports.

    Impact:
    It was a solid run to conclude the season on for Allmendinger. The No. 44 team appears to be in good shape heading into next season, and Allmendinger could push even higher in the standings in 2010.

    Truex Jr. picked up his second-consecutive Top-10 finish and his fourth consecutive Top 10 at HMS with his ninth-place finish in Sunday's Ford 400, earnhardtganassi.com reports.

    Impact:
    It was the perfect way for Truex to close out his career with Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing. Truex will now head to Michael Waltrip Racing for 2010 and hopefully carry the momentum of these last few races of 2009 to his new team.

    Kyle Busch used great racing and solid pit stops to come from 30th starting spot to finish eighth in Sunday's Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, joegibbsracing.com reports.

    Impact:
    Busch had to battle, but he collected his 13th Top-10 finish of the season in the Ford 400. It was a very encouraging sign for a driver that has struggled at times this season. 2010 could hold a potential championship for the Joe Gibbs Racing ace.

    Jeff Gordon finished sixth in the Ford 400 at Homestead after battling handling issues after the sun went down. The driver of the No. 24 Chevrolet had a great season and finished third in the final championship standings, gordonline.com reports.

    Impact:
    While Gordon's teammate Jimmie Johnson was claiming the trophy, Gordon will still a part of history on Sunday at HMS. Hendrick Motorsports became the first organization, thanks to Mark Martin and Gordon, to finish 1-2-3 in the final standings. Gordon had a great season, and should be a potential Top 5 driver again in 2010.

    Robby Gordon and the No. 77 Monster Energy / Toyo Tires team were named the 2009 Overall Series and Trophy Truck division Champion for the Tecate SCORE International Off-Road Racing Series, robbygordon.com reports.

    Impact:
    Congratulations are due to Gordon and his off-road racing team. He posted a Top-5 finish in Saturday's Baja 1000 and clinched the Tecate SCORE International Off-Road Racing championship.

    Carl Edwards, who won a Sprint Cup Series-high nine races in 2008, did not win any Sprint Cup Series races in 2009 after finishing seventh in the Ford 400 at Homestead on Sunday, the Roanoke Times reports.

    Impact:
    It was a disappointing season for the No. 99 Roush Fenway Racing team. Edwards made the Chase field, but had a very sub-par season and was held winless in 2009. The Top-10 finish on Sunday at Homestead was a very encouraging sign, and something Edwards can hopefully build on for 2010.

    Nico Rosberg was confirmed by Mercedes GP for 2010, finally confirming the rumors that have been circulating for months.

    Impact:
    Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello's departure from Brawn GP following the 2009 season opened the door for Mercedes, the new owner of the team, to sign their choice drivers, of which Nico Rosberg was widely tipped to be one of.

    Joey Logano scored a 24th-place finish and was the top rookie in Sunday's Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. He wins the 2009 Raybestos Rookie of the Year award with one win, three Top-5 and seven Top-10 finishes this season, Raybestos PR reports.

    Impact:
    It wasn't the stellar season that Logano hoped for, but it was good enough to claim the ROTY for 2009. Actually Logano's rookie numbers are somewhat similar to the stats that Jeff Gordon posted in his first season of Sprint Cup racing. The young Joe Gibbs Racing driver is poised to have a much better sophomore season with crew chief Greg Zipadelli and the No. 20 team.

    Mark Martin finished 12th in the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday.

    Impact:
    The veteran Hendrick Motorsports driver came up short in his quest for a first Sprint Cup championship. His No. 5 Chevy team just didn't have the car to run up front on Sunday at Homestead. Still, it was an incredible season for Martin. He won five races in 2009 and finished a very respectable second-place in the overall standings. Martin will be back in the No. 5 car next season for another championship run with owner Rick Hendrick.

    Kurt Busch finished fourth in the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday.

    Impact:
    The No. 2 Penske Racing team finished the season strong on Sunday at Homestead. Busch led 43 laps and collected his 10th Top 5 of the 2009 season. The finish capped an incredible season for the veteran driver. Busch finishes fourth in the final championship standings.

    Kevin Harvick finished third in the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday.

    Impact:
    Richard Childress Racing finished out the season with a lot of momentum. Harvick and the No. 29 team responded well to the crew chief shake up a few races ago. The veteran driver cracked the Top 5 on Sunday for his second Top-5 finish in the last three races of the season. Harvick is a driver to watch closely next year.

    Jeff Burton finished second in the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday.

    Impact:
    For the second consecutive week the No. 31 RCR team collected the runner-up finish. Burton ran another steady and smart race and led several laps in the Ford 400. The veteran driver ends the 2009 season on a very high note with new crew chief Todd Berrier. This is a team to watch closely and to select high in next season's fantasy drafts.

    Jimmie Johnson finished fifth in the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday. As a result of the Top-5 finish Johnson wins the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship.

    Impact:
    Make it four in a row for Johnson and the Hendrick Motorsports No. 48 team. Johnson ran among the leaders the entire race and turned in one of his best Homestead performances. He captures his fourth straight Sprint Cup title as a result and makes NASCAR history as the first driver to win four consecutive championships.

    Denny Hamlin won the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday.

    Impact:
    The No. 11 team charged from 38th starting spot and led the most laps to win the Ford 400 on Sunday. Hamlin collects the first ever win for manufacturer Toyota at Homestead, and he finishes fifth in the final championship standings.

    Steve Wallace finished eighth the Ford 300 Nationwide Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Saturday.

    Impact:
    It was an impressive run for the young RWI driver. Wallace battled with a field filled with Sprint Cup stars. He collected his ninth Top-10 finish of the season on Saturday at Homestead. Wallace finishes a very respectable seventh in the final championship standings.

    Jeff Burton finished third in the Ford 300 Nationwide Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Saturday.

    Impact:
    It was a strong run for the No. 29 RCR team. Burton stayed in the Top 5 for most of the race and led four times for 49 laps. Burton's Top 5 was his second of the season in 13 starts.

    Carl Edwards finished second in the Ford 300 Nationwide Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Saturday.

    Impact:
    Edwards battled with Kyle Busch and Jeff Burton for the entire race, but he was unable to collect the win in the season finale. He finished second on the day and second in the championship standings. Edwards was runner-up in the hunt for the championship by 210 points to Busch.

    Kyle Busch won the Ford 300 Nationwide Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Saturday. The victory allowed Busch to clinch the 2009 Nationwide Series Championship.

    Impact:
    Busch and the No. 18 Toyota team dominated yet again on Saturday, which was a fitting end to the season. He led 73 of the 200 laps run and collected his ninth win of the season. Busch clinches the Nationwide Series championship by finishing 210 points ahead of Carl Edwards.

    Jeff Burton was fastest in Happy Hour practice for the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Saturday. He turned a fast lap of 165.736 mph.

    Impact:
    Burton and his Richard Childress Racing teammate Kevin Harvick led the final practice for Sunday's Ford 400 at Homestead. The No. 31 team has been on a roll the last few races, and Burton looks like a Top 5 threat for Sunday's season finale at the 1.5-mile oval.

    Jose Maria Lopez has reportedly signed a conditional deal to drive for USF1 next season and will have the next week to secure the remaining sponsorship.

    Impact:
    Apparently Lopez is 20% short of the funding required by the contract, so we'll see if he actually takes the seat. He has driven in the GP2 series and has most recently spent time in Argentina's touring car series.
