Robby Gordon and the No. 77 Monster Energy / Toyo Tires team were named the 2009 Overall Series and Trophy Truck division Champion for the Tecate SCORE International Off-Road Racing Series, robbygordon.com reports.

    Impact:
Congratulations are due to Gordon and his off-road racing team. He posted a Top-5 finish in Saturday's Baja 1000 and clinched the Tecate SCORE International Off-Road Racing championship.

  • 11.20.09

The final race weekend of the 2009 season will also mark one of the busiest weekends of the year for Gordon. Before going to Homestead-Miami Speedway to compete in the 400-mile race on Sunday afternoon, Gordon will travel to the Baja Peninsula to compete in the Tecate SCORE Baja 1000, Robby Gordon Motorsports PR reports.

    Impact:
Gordon will be competing in the final race of the season in the Tecate SCORE International Off-Road Series. He is in line to win the championship with a good effort in the Baja 1000. Due to his focus and endurance being tested this weekend, Gordon probably doesn't make the best fantasy racing option in the Sprint Cup finale at Homestead.

  • 11.14.09

Robby Gordon, who has run a full Sprint Cup schedule as a driver/owner since 2006, says he has enough sponsorship for only eight races in 2010, ESPN.com reports.

    Impact:
With Jim Beam leaving the sport, RGM is in a terrible situation for next season. Gordon will continue to work hard on recruiting sponsors for his No. 7 team, but at current it looks like he'll be missing a lot of races in 2010.

  • 10.21.09

Robby Gordon Motorsports announced Doug Richert as the crew chief of the No. 7 Camry for the remainder of the 2009 season, Robby Gordon Motorsports PR reports.

    Impact:
This could potentially be great news for Gordon and his small race team. Richert is a proven crew chief and undoubtedly the best that has led Gordon's team in the last few years. He will serve out the remaining races of 2009 and there is potential that he could be atop the war wagon next season if things turn around for the struggling Gordon.

  • 10.15.09

Robby Gordon Motorsports is pleased to announce that Freightliner Trucks will serve as the primary sponsor of the No. 7 Camry in the NASCAR Banking 500 at Lowe's Motor Speedway, robbygordon.com reports.

    Impact:
The new sponsorship is great news for owner/driver Gordon. This could lead to future sponsorship from Freightliner Trucks in 2010, which would be welcome news for this team. Motivation to perform well at Charlotte will be very high for Gordon. He finished third in the Coca-Cola 600 at LMS in May, so Gordon makes a decent sleeper selection for this weekend.

  • 09.26.09

Robby Gordon lost one of his bigger sponsors this week, but the driver/owner has several sponsors that should help him handle the departure of Jim Beam, scenedaily.com reports.

    Impact:
Gordon believes he can get sponsorship to step up and cover the loss of Jim Beam next season. Corporate sponsors such as Polaris, Monster energy drink and Camping World have been mentioned as possible replacements. Gordon seems intent on staying a full-time owner/driver in the Sprint Cup Series.

  • 09.22.09

Beam Global Spirits & Wine, Inc. announced that its marketing plans for 2010 will not include a return to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. As a result, the company will not extend its current partnership with Robby Gordon Motorsports in 2010, robbygordon.com reports.

    Impact:
This is bad news for Gordon's small race team. Jim Beam has been a primary sponsor of the No. 7 team for some time now. They're leaving the sport in 2010, and it will leave Gordon looking for some very crucial funding.

  • 09.12.09

Gordon will compete in the fourth of five SCORE International Off-Road Racing Series races, the Primm 300 in Nevada on Saturday, Robby Gordon Motorsports PR reports.

    Impact:
Gordon has the SCORE off-road championship within his grasp. He will skip this weekend's NASCAR event in Richmond to race in the Primm 300. Gordon's No. 77 Trophy Truck has been strong all season so he should challenge for the win on Saturday.

  • 09.05.09

David Gilliland will drive the No. 7 Toyota at Richmond next weekend in place of Robby Gordon who will be running the road race in Baja, SPEED TV reports.

    Impact:
Gordon has a good thing going off-road this season, so he will opt to race in Baja instead of the NASCAR race at Richmond. Gilliland is pinch-hitting for several teams down the stretch this season and he will add the No. 7 team to that list.
