Impact:
Elliott makes a great sleeper pick in fantasy racing leagues this week at Homestead. The No. 21 team has been pretty decent on intermediate ovals this year, and Elliott is a one-time winner at the South Florida track. He finished 12th in this event one year ago, and could challenge the Top 15 again on Sunday at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
When Bill Elliott climbs behind the wheel of the No. 21 Ford this weekend at Lowe's Motor Speedway for the NASCAR Banking 500, it will mark Wood Brothers 100th start at the intermediate oval in North Carolina, woodbrothersracing.com reports.
Impact:
Not only will this be a historic milestone for this race team, but Elliott makes an excellent fantasy racing selection in deeper formats. The No. 21 team cracked the Top 20 at Kansas recently with Elliott in the driver's seat and they cracked the Top 15 in the Coca-Cola 600 at LMS earlier this year. Elliott and this part-time race team have been quite productive on the larger tracks this season.
Bill Elliott sustained three cracked ribs riding his dirt bike, racintoday.com reports. He will be unable to race this weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Impact:
Elliott will have to step out of the No. 21 Ford this weekend at Atlanta due to his injury. He will be replaced by David Gilliland for now. There was no word on when Elliott will be able to return to action.
